Shri Gurdyal Singh Benipal Ji was born in District Ludhiana (Punjab). He completed his early education in Khanna, and later pursued a degree in Civil Engineering from Lahore .

In addition, he partnered with Shri Karam Chand Thapper in the > United Collieries Ltd. Coal Mines, Dhanbad, contributing to India’s industrial growth.

His humility and patriotism were equally inspiring. Though offered the prestigious title of “Sir” by the British Government , he refused the honour , believing it inappropriate to accept recognition from a colonial power while his countrymen were fighting for India’s freedom.

A man of deep compassion and social commitment, Bhagat Puran Singh Ji (Lahore) – the renowned philanthropist – also spent time with Gurdyal Singh Ji, reflecting his noble character and dedication to service.

True to his philanthropic spirit, he made generous donations to schools in Khanna, where he was honoured for his contributions to education.
